Characteristics: aluminum containing more than 99.00 %, good conductivity, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, low strength and can not do heat treatment enhancement.
Applications: high-purity aluminum (containing more than 99.9% aluminum) is mainly used for scientific experiments, chemical industry and special purposes.
Characteristics: aluminum alloy with copper as the main composite element. Manganese, magnesium, lead and bismuth will also be added for cutting properties. For example, 2011 alloys should pay attention to safety protection (producing harmful gases) during melting. 2014 alloy is used for aerospace industry which with high strength. The strength of the 2017 alloy is little lower than 2014 alloy, but it is easier to process. Heat treatment enhancement can be done in alloy 2014.
Disadvantages: The tendency of intergranular corrosion is serious.
Applications: Aviation industry (2014 alloy), screws (2011 alloy) and industries with higher service temperatures (2017 alloy).

Generally, the middle-end and above shoe racks are basically 6 series or 7 series.
Characteristics: mainly contains with magnesium and silicon. Mg2Si is the main reinforced phase, and it is currently the most widely used alloy. 6063, 6061 is the most widely used, and 6463 are relatively low in strength in 6 series. 6262, 6005, 6082, 6061 are relatively in high strength in 6 series. Features: mainly contains with zinc, but sometimes a small amount of magnesium and copper should be added. Ultra-hard aluminum alloys has the similar hardness to steel that add zinc, lead, magnesium and copper alloys. The extrusion speed is slower than 6 series alloys, and the welding performance is better. Alloy 7005 and alloy 7075 are the highest grades in 7 series, which are heat-treatable.
Applications: aviation (plane's load-bearing components, landing gear), rockets, propellers, aviation spacecraft.
